THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL RECORD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor. Cycle Club's sports held on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an, entry of 12 machines representing 5 difierent makes the Triumphs secured/ten/firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds' out of a possible eleven events., This performance is all the more remarkable when it is considered /tlhat the Triumphs had to concede '•large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten. first machines were ridden by .amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr ,T. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt out the existing figures of the Wellington, to Napier record—viz.. Bhrs established by Mr H: L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other makes of miachiines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph for three vears. Mr Bra'thwaite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. o<n New Year's Day, and, arrived, at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being Gtors. 38min... lowering the previous, record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops beino- to take in netrol and oil.
