SHOCKING MOTOR ACCIDENT

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) GORE, Last Night. A shocking accident occurred on Tftaeecourse Boad this afternoon, •when an. agent for the Southland Farmers' Co-operative Association named Edward Smith, who was riding on a motor bicycle, collided., head on, with a. motor car. It appears that the rider was on the wrong side of the road, which is in had -order. He attempted, to cross, with the result that" Smith collided violently with the car, apparently on the left side. He was picked up unconscious, and bleeding-profusely from an extensive cut over the left eye. He whs removed to town. The bicycle is a total wreck. Smith's condition is thought serious, hut. is not ascertainable in the meantime.
