THE MILITARY AND POLITICS UNITED STATES TAKES ACTION. (Received Last Night, 10.10 o'clock.) WASHINGTON, January 17. The United States Government has served notice on President Gomez that the United States will intervene m Cuba if further attempts are made by the veterans' organisation to nullify the law prohibiting the interference by the military in politics. 'The veterans declare that there has been an active displacement from the Civil Service of sympathisers with tiho Spanish cause during the late rebellion.
