HUKANUI PICNIC SPORTS CLUB
T!be second annual meeting of the above Cilub will l>e held on Thursday, 28th March, on the sports enclosure', Hukamri. An excellent programme of sports is published in this morning's "Age," and a perusal will satisfy the reader that the public are being well catered for. Prizes to the value of £.IOO are offered for competition, and the sports will be conducted under the rules of the New Zealand Athletic Union. The horse jumping and hunters' competitions will attract numerous competitors. Amongst the numerous prizes offered fis a solid silver rose bowl in case, value £l2 I.os, with £3 added for 'Hunters' Competition. Chopping events, wrestling, weight guessing, and foot races all go to make up a very interesting programme. There will be a grand ball in the Hukanui Hall in the evening to wind up the dav's holiday.
