THE FRENCH CRISIS.
The crisis in France, Avhieh has ended in the resignation of M. Faillaux, the Premier, may be explained by the (following cable, which appeared; in. a London paper on December 6th : Political and diplomatic circles in France are much perturbed over certain revelations concerning the almost incredible attitude adopted by M. Cailliaux, the French Premier, who'is alleged to have made use of language* before the British Ambassador Tn | Paris which was only condoned by the amicable intervention of President Fallieres. Through a semi-official intermediary he made known- directly to King Alfonso that ho had resolved to take decisive action, and he warned Bis Majesty (says the Journal de Geneve) that in the event of resistance the Spanish dynasty might find itself in: a position of serious danger. These words produced the greatest stupefaction .not only at Madrid, but in London, whither they were immediately reported.
