' A Mttle before 7.30 this morning the Kaiapoi iFire Brigade turned out to a fixe in, the Kaiapoi' Shipping and trading Co.'s sawmill a<t the back of Hansen's building in Clharles Street. The mill, a large corrugated iron structure containing a gpod deal of timber, was a mass of flames, ami tihe Brigade centred its attention on adjoining buiMings, mostly sheds, which were considerably damaged. The mill was> gritted and the boiler and engine were rendered useless. The other machinery was also destroyed.
