A resolution that where possible ar-uc.-es required for Federal use should be of Australian growth and manufacture wa:; carried. . Motions in favour of elective Ministries and nationalisation of inventions were defeated. Mr Fisher moved for the formation of a Federal Executive. He said that sometimes conflicts arose bet-ween.the Federal and State parties and there was no-body in. ex is tence to intervene. A motion that if a. referendum is successful a universal day of rest be established in mines, factories, a,nd workshops on Sunday was carried. _ The relative positions of places in the fighting platform were altered. A white Australia, was placed first, then maintenance and land tax referendums, new protection ,_ nationalisation of monopolies, arbitration .amendment, navigation,, 00-mmon wealth freight and. passenger steamers, restriction of public borrowing, general insurance, ajvi establishment of sugar refineries. A motion that nobody enrolled under the Defence Act be compelled to bear arms against workers engaged m industrial disputes was carried.
