COTTON STRIKE
A SETTLEMENT EXPECTED.

LONDON, January 14. A settlement of the cotton strike is expected, both sides favouring a half year's truce. ■ • 'Meanwhile the masters are endeavouring to secure a pledge against har-a-assing strikes on the non-unionist question.
