PAKOWHAI ESTATE
A SUCCESSFUL SALE. The sale of smb-diivisions of the celebrated Pakowhai estate was held at Hastings on Wednesday, being conducted by Mr J. R. Lananze, in conjunction with Messrs- Dalgety and Co., Ltd. There was a good attendance, and hidding was. brisk, twentythree sections' being sold under the hammer out of the 39 offered. In addition to those sold by auction, it is expected to sell most of the balance privately, and probably all but three sections* will be quitted to-motrrow. The prices realised were as folJow: — Seven acres at £74 per acre; 7£ acres at £6S; 9-J acres at £67 10s; 6 acres at £6O; 9} acres at £67 10s; 6 acres at £66; 9J acres at £64 10s; 9.V acres at £64 ; 5 acres at £6O 10s; llf acres at £6O; 323 acres at £57 10s; 16?,- acres at £56; 26* acres at £56; £55 10s; 28-i- acres at £55-; 34 «ares at £53; 40 acres at £sl; 68 acres at £32 10s,
