SCOTSMEN AND YORKSHIREMEW A FREE FIGHT. (Received Last Night, 11 o'clocu.) LONDON, January 4. A riot occurred at Longmore ow.ng to local Scotsmen smarting under the defeat of the Black Watch footba.l team. A party of Yorkshiremen went to their quarters in the evening and chaffed the Highlanders, who salhed forth. Blows were exdhlanged, both, sides using bricks from .a new building near by. Other Yorkshiremen rushed to the rescue. Some of the Highlanders fixed bayonets and others smashed bedsteads and used liars as weapons. The meilee lasted twenty minutes. One hundred and seventy windows were broken. Finally the officers, many of whom were in their pyjamas, succeeded hi stopping the fight. The officers deny that there was a mutiny.
