In tJhe House of Commons, the Hon. Neil Primrose, Liberal member tor Wisbeok, shairfdy attacked Lord ho\obum in connection with the appointment of Magistrates. The Prime Minister replied that before the Royal Commission wa3* set up, the Government had appointed 2758 Liberals, 864 Conservatives, and 1733 whose politics were unknown, to the Magistracy. They had since appointed men nominated by the Advisory . Committee. / A resolution approving of Lord Loreburn's action was carried by 131 votes to 39.
