MEETENC OF COUNCIL
Tlie -monthly meeting of the Council of the Masterton, Chamber of Commerce was held yesterday afternoon, there being present Messrs A. Hendlerson u'.liairma.n), J. B. Keith, W. E. CQi.amibed-la.ui, C. E. Daniell, J'. Btown, J. C. Ewington, J. Oaselbcrg, AY. B. Cliennefis, D. Donald, G. 0° Surnmerell a.nd G. H. Perry. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs R. Brown, J. B. Moodie, G. W:. Selku- and A. T. Spain. The Treasurer- reported a credit balance at date of £l4 3& 9d. > A tetter was readi from the A. and P. Association, stating that tlie question of changing the name of the "P.urakau" railway station had been deferred until Uiexlb meeting. Tlie secretary of tlie Postal Department wrote, stating "that the matter of an improved telephone exchange was. held in abeyance pending consideration of the report of the Chief Electrician of the Department, who i® now abroad milking full investigation into the diff-.entsys.tems of telephone exchange wording.'
