Mile posts have been extended to mile 42 near Homewood. It will be necessary to support the stringer bridge at Homewood by constructing a pier m the centre to meet the requirements of the traffic. Some repairs are also necessary to a 20-ft span bridge at Waironga, a two-inch top decking, end the strengthening of a stringer, approximate cost of repairs to both bridgts, £2O. upper taueru riding— Te Ore Ore-Bideford Road .—Contract No. 268: Building additions to Roadman's cottage. I have received a price from Mr Byford to carry out the work for a sum of £47, and 1 would record its acceptance. ' ALFREDTON RIDING— Barton's Line. —Contract N0.,227'. The bridge consists of a 70ft truss and a 16ft approach span, the deck ibeing built 6ft above high-water mark, t>}je.trusses to lie 10ft apart, and 9ft 4in between the wheel guards.
