A SHOPS BILL
READ A THIRD TIME

LONDON, December 9
In the House of Commons, the Shops Bill was read a third time. The Bill ensures forty-fivt minutes for the mid-day meal, thirty minutes for tea, and a half holiday weekly. Owing to the exigencies of the session, the controversal clauses of th'.> Bill, including compulsory Sunday closing and limiting the working hours to sixty per week, were dropped.
