THE SQUATTER'S GOVERNMENT.
History is repeating itself in New Zealand. Twenty years ago the people revolted at what tiiey termed the "Squatter-'s Government." __, To-day there are few squatters left in. the Dominion, and what there are, belong chiefly to Hiawke's Ray. These are so satisfied with the present, Government, that tluey have giveni a certificate of character to one of its candidates. Thus we find the titled aristocracy gaining the sympathy and support-of the large land-owner s\ After the certificate given, Mr Robert McNab hy the squatters of Hawke's ©ay, would it (be reasonable to expect that gentateman., if he were again to become Miouiister of Lands, to pursue a bursting-up land pollicy?
