AMATEUR THEATRICAL SOCIETY
REPETITION OF "DOROTHY."
The Masterton Amateur Theatrical Society repeated the comedy opera "Dorothy" in the Town Hal! last night, Iwforo a largo audience. The .acting showed a marked improvement on the first production, . and several additions and changes increas-' ed the effect. The choristers and soloists were in excellent voice, and the ordhestra carried out its work well. The leading characters, Miss Eileen Jago, Mrs A. H. Daniell, and Messrs W. S. .Tago and F. H. Elcoate, .were, perhaps, better than on the occasion of the first production) of the opera, and they were frequently applauded. Miss Jago and Mrs DamieH received a number of floral.tributes from admirers in tlio audience. The comic protdon of the programme was well sustained by Miss B. Johnston and » Mr Harry Hall, .who provoked roars ot Laughter. The production was a decided success, and reflects the utmost credit on the director (Mr G. C. Branson) and tfbe promoter#.
