Mrs Fisher was of a kindly and generous- disposition.. A great deal of her time was taken up in visiting and helping the sick and anyone in trouble. The South Canterbury teachers (met as a. branch of the Institute) passed with acclamation a resolution, of congratulation to Mr J. G. Gow on lii.s completion of 25 years Inspectorship under the South Canterbury Board. Leading teachers spoke highly of Mr Gow's good qualities as Inspector.
