[To The Editor.]

Sir,— In June Hast 114 shopkeepers qf Masterton were asked a series of Questions relative to the effect of No-licnse on their particular busing ess. Eighty-nine replied, and tw&ai-ty-five to do so, apparently afraid to, or not in! the position tx>, express .thiedr opinion.. Of the 89 who did reply, 72 were, favourable to Nb-licen.se, 4 said No-license had a bad effect, and- 13 were indifferent. The shopkeepers thus favour Noficen.se by 72 to 4. Now, Sir, we have heard of a meetiaig of business men interested) in. restoration. Who are tihese alleged "business" men who. are fighting against the (interests of 72 shopkeepers for the good (?) of 4? It would be interesting to know in what capacity they are business l men. The 72 tradesmen ard genuine business menu and are not afraid to express their.having; s«|?ne'd:';t'hejir'"feteiWenfte.' Ak v»te*is of Mastertqn, we ; Avnltit. ,tb know who these alleged t business men in: favoua- of restoration are. I see by advertisement that a meeting is. called for to-night .by .Mr E. Gr. Eton for those interested in restoraAs \ the meeting is advertised, I conclude that it is public, and I would .suggest that .the No-license party obtain the names and occupations! of ailU those present, so, that we may know who .these people aire who are fighting againist the evidence of the, genuine business men of Mlasterton. It is only fair to the electors that their names should be published, and then could .see who's who. Thanking you in anticipation. —I am, etc., "MORE DAYLIGHT"
