MR HERBERT'S CANDIDATURE.
Mr A. H. Herbert's political address on Tuesday at Ivaiitawa. wias well received, there beting about fifty electors present.. Mr Aliin Stevenston occupied the client Mr Herbert gave- a viigoTou® fighting 'speech of two hours' duration, 'and -was applauded frequently. At the end of his l (address he was 1 asked numerous, question's), the euiiiswers of which were received with applause. In proposing a vote of .thanks, Mr McDonaild sadd that he honed Mr Herifiert •would Ibe able to carry out the policy that he had &)o ably placed before them.
Mr Andrew Knox, in seconding the resolution, remarked that Lt was l the most aiblte and stateslmanillike address that he lilad heard ii'n Kaitawa, and ■they had heard not «■ few. The ■motion was. put amd earned with prolonged applause. • - ' '
