FALSE DECLARATION
CASES AT ELTHAM.

ELTHAM, Last Nigjht. At tihe Magistrate's Court yesterday, three defendants wore separately charged with making fallse declarations regarding claims fc<r enrol- . - meat, and another defendant (D. F. J Patterson) had three- separate irihar-ge-s- against him in respe-et to tlie above claims of misleading the Registrar of Meetcrs .by causing to be ee-nt to Jiim claims containing a false statement. Oii6 case was dismissed, one defendant was fined 10s, and the other eases were partly 'heard. Jn. loins' case it was -affleged that ti daim was made cut tin pencil, hut Patterson sent in> a claim in ink containing a faJsei .statement atl variance with tihe 'statement made by the 'Claimant, \\h<* denies toving . iwwi/ttem or 'signed nt. ' The Magistrate considered this case -was very .serious, involving an element of perjury er forgery, and adjourned the hearing to secure, ftvriflier evidence.
