THOMPSON—PAYNE PICTURES.
: , Another good house greeted the euro-rent programme of pictures at the Foresters' Hall last evening, and tdiiGse present were amply repaid for ■their attendance, an enjoyable entertainment being provided. An industrial, "Iron Wiorks in Russia," shows the treatment of ore, and some of the scenes in the smelting works are really excellent. A Western dirama of unusual type, "Ranger Pals," is sure to pleaise. It unfolds, a fine tale of [friendship bordering on self-sac-rifice. "New Year Festivities in Japan" is a decided novelty. Another good 'industrial is the "Home of the Culinan Diamond." "The Roads" \vm a, pathetic drama of a popular type. The other filtms ore well up to the usual high standard of pictures ■' screened at the Foresters' Hall The comedies and comias should prove side-splitters. Messrs Thompson and Payne announce three- great attractions for to-morrow night, viz., The Melbourne Cup, Victoria Derby, and N Selig's great jungle drama, "Captain Kate."
