"FAKING" OF SHEEP.
A correspondent in this- issue revives the question of the alleged "faking" of sheep for show purposes. He expresses astonishment at the amiount •<f "faking" lie hau seen ,at shows* •luring the Hast imonth or two. Pos- ■ ihly tliie correspondent regards' oiling and trianimiuig as "faking." These 'inve been held to ibe quite legitimate ••ac'tisr's when preparing sheep for
the .sliow-iring. It is- impossible to present a stud, sheep to advantage in its natural condition. The only point for consideration is as to whether the paub'llic is being deceived, and whether the process of "getting-up" show dheep is being carried to extremes. This, again, is> a question for the yudges.
