AND THE DEAN OF ST. PAUL'S. PAMPERED, NARROW-MINDED CLERICS. (Received Last Night, 9.35 o'clock.) MELBOURNE, November 13. The Hon. W. M. Hughes, referring to the Dean of St. Paul's cable statement, declared that he was speaking about matters he did not understand. He was one of the type of pampered, narrow-minded clerics, who were getting the Church into disrepute. Unionists were fighting under better conditions.
REV. INGE'S PESSIMISM. CONDEMNED BY TWO BISHOPS. (Received Last Night, 11.10 o'clock.) LONDON, November 13. The Bishops of Welldon and Birmingham condemn the Rev. Mr Inge's pessimism. The former asserts that there was no reason why the Church should not l>e allied with the democracy, which tends to secure the greatest happiness for the greatest number.
