MONTHLY MEETING.
The monthly meeting of the Masterton District High SclKtol Oomimittee was held lasib night, there being present.— Messrs R. Brqwii (chairman), J. L. Hughes, A. Hendry, E. H. wiaddington,. T. J. Thompson, G. Hylde, A. .». Qhap<man and C. Perry.

'"' The was instructed to urge upon the Board this necessity of proceeding -w-iitE the erection of the assembly haE during ftie CBariistanas holidays. In considering the appointment of an. assistant, regret was exgaressed that neither of the four local applicants were submitted, to tihe' Committee. The seorehary was instructed to write to the Board, pointing out the fact. „
The Headmaster reported as follows regarding the staff:— One of the assistant teaciherst on the Side School staff was absent three dayta last week through illness. Ait the end of the present year the .senior* pupil teacher and the two probationers will retire ft-om the staff. They; postsess the required qualification tot admission, .to the Wellington Training College, and will probably foe admitted to studentsjhapis. Accounts amounting to £39 l>3s 3d wtere siubmitted and passed for payment.
