THE "PEOPLE'S DAY."
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAWERA, Last Night For the "people's day" of the Egmont show, the weather was threateniing, with occasional showers, accompanied by heavy wind. The attend- •'{ dance was below that of last year. Mr JamesJGrant (Hawera) with -Baron Martin, was awarded first and champion in draught stallions. In
the thoroughbred classes, Mr H. L. Vino's (Manaia) Cornet secured first champion. The leaping competition steeplechase stylo, was won by N. M. Patterson's "Haere". Mr R. D. Morrison's "Weary Bill" won the high jump.
