ALTERATION OF NAMES.

In consequence of the new Dreadnought cruiser taking the name of "Aew Zealand," tiro Admiralty had to re-christen the warship already bearing that name, and it was proposed to make, the alteration to "Caledonian." " Sir JoUeph Ward, uilten in- Uondon, suggested that this course should not be followed, and proposed "Zealandia" as a substitute. He receivied! a cablegram to_day from the Adamfalfty, stating that .Ms suggestion had been followed.
