Messrs Braggins and Fanner have taken over the bakery business of Mr Roigard's. We wish the enterprising twain every success, and trust they will meet with their fair share of support. Our station and adjoining buildings, have received their Christinas coat of pa int. and look quite smart. Shearing operations here are in full swing, the weather being perfect just now for the sheep farmer. The school playground i.s I>eing ploughed l>y. Mr C. Jensen, who hopes by cropping it and breaking up the soil, to have a level surface. It will then be sown down in grass, and the ground will then bo of some benefit to the scholars. Miss Ivy Howe, whose, parents reside' in Queensland, left for Wellington yesterday (Thursday), en rout? for i home. Miss Howe will be much missI cd, as she was a popular young woman •aud a favourite of all. The Sports Club held their annual meeting on Wednesday night. Owing to the lack of support it was decided that no sports be held here this Christmas.
