COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTIONS
AKITIO.
A large number of candidates have l-seii nominated for the AUitio County Council, Mr P. V. Smith, who represents the Akitio Riding, being the only member to be re-elected unopposed. The following nominations have been received: Pongaroa Riding (two members): Messrs W. A. Burling, A. Dickens, T. Dunn, J. McTntyre. Rakaunui Riding, (one member): Messrs T. A. Mori no. R. B. Robertson, G. W. West. Waihi Biding (two members): Messrs H. T. Elliugham, M. Ferrick. W. T. Gilbert, G. H. Gillam, G. R. Hutching, A. C. Herbert, J. Millar. Mataikona Riding (one member): Messrs J. W. Murray (present chairman), and F. Robbie. The election will take place on Wednesday next, between nine a.m. and six p.m. There are thirteen polling places. There will alio be a contest for a representative of the County on the Wairarapa Hospital Board, Messrs J. W. Murray, the present representative, and Mr R. B. Robinson having been nominated.
