ALLEGED FOUL PLAY

YOUNG MAN ARRESTED,

WELLINGTON, Last Night. Consequent on the death' at the hospital on Wednesday afternoon of George Gunther, formerly of Masterton, enquiries were made by the detectives, it being thought that the man'*! 'tk'atk was earned by a blow delivered by an assailant. As a result of their investigations, Detectives Lewis and Andrews to-day arrested a young man named Edward Francis Moffitt, and charged him with manslaughter. The accused- was released on bail, himself in the sum of £l5O and one surety of £l5O. Moffitt will appear before the Court to-morrow morning. The niquevt on the body of Gunther will take place to-morrow afternoon.
