WEICHT-GUESSINC COMPETITION.

T& heifer, pig and- sheep used for the weight-guessing competition at ,the Carterton Show were killed on Saturday morning, and weighed in the presence of Mr W. Howard Booth (President), Mr Moss (secretary), and Mr G. W. Deller. The results were:—

Heifer (weight 6571b5). — W. Jj Denbee (Parkvale), W. F. Day (Gladstone; Miss E. King, Carterton; Misa. C. Low, Featherson, all guessed the correct weight. The -names were, shuffled in a box, and drawn forth, and resulted in Miss King being first, and Mr W; F. Day second. Five sheep/(weight 3101bs). — J. J. Braggins (Greytown), H. P. Hafrisqn (Masterton), T. Ingley (Morrison's. Bush), A. Turner (Tupurupuru). In the draw off, T. Ingley was winner, with Mr A. Turner second.

Two pigs (weight 150 lbs). — J. MicKenzie guessed the correct weight; Hugh Adams (Dalefield) 1611bs; Mrs M. Burt (Featherston) 1491b5, H. Feast (Greytown) 1491b5, W. Johnston (Park Road) 1511bs, R. G. Kemble (Carterton) 151 lbs. In the draw off, F. W. Johnston, was declared winner of the second prize.
