HONOURS DIVIDED.

SYDNEY, October 29. The voting at the .by-election for Maitland is complete. The result' was:— 'Mr Nicholson (Liberal) 3695
Ml* Vial (Labour) 2900 The voting for Liverpool Plains was as follows: ■Mr Ashford (Labour) 3887 Mr Perry (Liberal) 3322
There are a few returns to come, (but they cannot alter the result. This leaves the Labour party with a strength of 46, and the Liberals with 44. Mr Willis being speaker, reduces the Liberal vote by one.
