PROTEST AGAINST LIQUOR BILL

BRISBANE, October 26
A deputation of 'barmaids protested that the proposal of the Liquor Bill, dealing with their hours of labour, would drive them out of their calling.
The Bill was only wanted by a few temperance fanatics and incompetent barmen. .
■Mr Denham' promised that the matter would receive consideration.
