MASTERTON STOCK SALE
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual sale at Solway (Masterton) yesterday, instead of to-day, which is the first day of the Carterton show, when they offered a very small yarding of sheep, ,W entry of cattle cpming forward. The attendance of buyers was very small, and consequently the sale was dull. Quotations are as follows —-Ewes and lambs, 13s; empty ewes (fair condition) 10s 8d; small'hoggets, to lis; fat ewes, to 16s. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton sale held yesterday: Sheep came forward in excess of advertised numbers, but the attendance of buyers was small, and bidding at auction slack. However, we effected ■ a complete clearance at following rates: —Fat ewes, 19s (best); others, 16s to 17s 6d; fat and forward ewes, 15s; forward empty ewes, 13s 3d to 345; spring cart horse, £7 7s. No cattle were yarded.
