INCREASE IN WAGES. FOR THE FIRST DIVISION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, La-t'Night. The Government Railway Bill was I introduced by Governor's Message in tlx© House of Representatives tonight. The Bill provides for an increase in the salaries of the se»n :1 division, and the restoring of the relative position» of the various classes which were destroyed by the increases proposed in the Bill. CVIi- M'alxx)ka asked if the amsnurnent affected the first division. 'fire Ho 11. J. A. Millar: "No." Ho knew there was dissatisfaction, b«ea.use all the railway servants had not got increases. The increases provided for would inn into £70,000, and were all for the second divisioa. The Government intended that married men in the service should not .receive less than 8s tad per day, >\ Jth a. minimum, of Bs. iMr Mvassey asked if the Bill oouM be amended to, provide that there would always be 50 per oent. of the engine-drivers in the first iivifc*ion. Tlie Hon. J. A. Millar replied that this was done as far asi the revenue
