OPENING DAY. The thirty-fourth annual show cf" the Wairarapa P. and A. Society opens at Carterton to-day. At the time of •■writing, the outlook from a meteorological point of view is not encouraging. Still, even clouds have - been known to disperse and weatherprophets to prove false. -The hope ij generally expressed that the elements will not prove as adverse at they threaten. To-day will ibe "judging day" at the show, when farmerswill meet in friendly rivalry and icotnpare notes. Several competitions will, however, be got off, and these should prove an attraction to the general public. Tcnmorrow —"People's il>ay" —will ib© sure to see a great crowd on the Carterton The railway services from .North and South are convenient. -
