MASTERTON RESIDENTS INCONVENIENCE 0.
The inconvenience suffered by ordinary train travellers on the occasion i of race meetings at Trentham. is developing into something approaching; a scandal. On Monday last several', residents were put to trouble and, ■annoyance through the train leaving. Masterton at a later hour than usual,., and, after numerous delays for thebenefit of race-goers, reaching Wellington much .behind time-table hour.. One resident intended proceeding toBlenheim on Monday to attend funeral of a relative. Under ordinary circumstances he would have been in ample time ,to catch the steamer leaving Wellington at 12.45. Owing however, to the frequent stoppage® on the journey, and the starting* hour being put back, lie arrived in the city just in time to see the boat steaming down the harbour. Naturally he feels that he lias a grievance. -
