THE RAILWAY SERVANTS.
The /Government is making a belated, though determined effort to placate the railway .servants of the Dominion. A Bill introduced last night provides for increases in the wages "of the first division :o £70,000. It is. said that the railway vote in the Dominion is between 20,000 and 30,000 strong, so that the price paid per vote is not out of t;ie ."ordinary. But .will the railway servants allow themselves to be bought in this fashion? The concession, :t must be remembered, has been tardily given. It has, in fact, been fairly wrung out of the Ministry.
