SHIPPING STRIKE
ORE CARGO HELD UP
UNION OFFICIALS ASTONISHED.

SYDNEY, Otcober 23. The steamer Cycle has arrived from Port Pirie with a cargo of ore for transhipment.
Tlie recognised rates for ore are Is 6d per ton, but the wharf labourers have declined to handle the cargo. The Union officials express astonishment at their action.
In other directions the strike i& unaltered.
The Executive continues to handle perishable goods, therefore *;he dairy produce markets are not affected.
Produce trade from Melbourne to Tasmania, however, is at a stai\t- ; still, affecting the potato and chaff markets.
