LONDON MARKETS
HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT.
The Commerce and Tourists Division- of the department of Agriculture Comonerce and Tourists, has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner for New Zealand dated London, 21st October:— Mutton.— The market is quiet, but holders are firm, as stock® on hand are light, and are firmly held in few hands. Canterbury, 4£d; North Island, 3sd per lb. Lamib.—The market is quiet. There is less demand. Canterbury sd, other than Canterbury, 4|d per lb. Beef.— The imiarket is very dullthe supply, exceeds the demand. New Zealand hands 3jd, fores 2gd per lb.
Butter,— The market is lifeless. Transactions are very limited, and buyers are not inclined to make forward purchases at present prices. Danish, 140s; Siberian, 1235; Australian, 129s per owt. Cheese.— There has fyeen no alteration in the market since last week. Canadian, 69s 6d per cwt.
