VESSELS BEING TIED UP
ONE COMPANY GIVES WAY

SYDNEY, October 20. Strike affairs are quiet. The vessels are being tied up a s they arrive.
Coal lumpers continue bunkering. The Cairns Co-operative Company, owners of a number of small coasting vessels, have conceded the men's demands.
Efforts are being made to increase the compromise to allow the Paloona's cargo of apples from Hobart to be unloaded, for fear of their spoiling.
THE WORKERS OPTIMISTIC.
ENFORCING AN AGREEMENT

SYDNEY, October 20. The wharf strikers express themselves optimistic of gaining their demands.
MELBOURNE. October 20,
The Shipowners' have wired the Wharf Labourers Union to supply labour and to work the cargo as provided for in the agreement, under penalty of £IOOO. The Registrar has also wired the Union leaders. : to attend a. conference on Monday!
