THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. A large audience was present again la9t evening at the Foresters' Hal] to witness the current programme. A fine range of dramas—the best being "The Buried Past," a story of a reformed convict, and '\His Mother," a patlietio Vitagraph study—were presented, and met with general approval. The comics caused roars of laughter, particularly "Toto •without Water," while the scenice were also very interesting.- "Life in a Country Pond was an instructive picture. The children's matinee will ibe Jield this evening, and the (programme will be repeated to-night for tne last time. A NEW ZEALAND TOUR. Tourists throughout the world have long since heard of the charm and beauity of, our jNew \ Zealand . 'sconorv. ' V This istatement is almost a commonplace were it not that the repetition does not pall—it only serves to ibring the vasitness, variety and charm of New Zealand's natural glories into greater contrast with those of other countries. 11l a booklet published by the Hupp Motor (Car Company, of Detroit, Michigan, U.S.iV,, entitled "Round the World in, a Hupimolbile," we read the following. After touring Australia the writer states: "Messrs Hanlon and .Tores toured across the North and South Islands of New .Zealand—a trip "that proved in many ways the most remarkable of. the tour." He eontf iues, "Hills everywhere, as h?r a» the eye can see, around and beyond you rtbound in the North Island. Hills of all kind®,, from short, steep pib-hss to lonig steady 'climlbs which C. D. (Hidden, a world famed, tourist, declares are the worst in. the wtirld.'' " . And so the story goes on, telling of the wonderful triumphs ov >r road difficulties .by the "Hupp." A truly marvellous oar, yuiv will say. Why not? The makers guarantee it to stand the wear and tear of almost any road—and fome of those hereabouts are bad enough The .sturdy little Hupp is fittfid w ■ !: a wonderful engine which will run 800 .miles without refilling the radiator.
