ILLEGALLY SELLING LIQUOR.

chemist Fined. WAIHI, Last Night-. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, K D. Carder, a local chemist, -was charged with illegally selling liquor, defendant pleading, as a technical breach, keeping liquor .for sale. The Inspector stated that the official list showed that defendant had received 338 .bottles within, three months. Ihe medical prescriptions handed to the police accounted for only 76 bottles. The Magistrate said that defendant had grossly abused the section of the Act governing the dispensing of liquor by chemists. A fine of £25 was imposed, with costs. This is the first ca.se of the kind m. the Dominion.
