CARTERTON SHOW
RECORD CATTLE ENTRY.
To all faimers, and more especially those tarrying on dairying, the splendid exhibition of cattle entered for the Carterton Show next week should prove of absorbing interest. The number is far in excess of those a>. any previous show in the Wairarapa. There will be a good competition all through the Shorthorn classes between both local and outside breeders. In dairy cattle the show is confidently expected to equal if not surpass anything ever seen in the North Island. The Ayrshires provide the largest number of individual breeders, and the competition w r ill be of the keenest, and as the championships of the North Island 'aire to the decided there is no doubt visitors will have the opportunity of seeing Ayrshires as near perfect as it is possible to produce. The .special sale, as promoted by the Ayrshire Herd Book Association, takes place on the iirst show day, so that tnose in search of sires or additions to their herds should not fail ti' take> this unique opportunity of securing .something serviceable, and valuable. Sheep exhibits will provide greater variety than usual, and a 5 additional breeders to those .usually competing are visiting the Wairarapa with stock this year, the section provides a keen interest for the exhibitors as well as the visiting public. The show of produce is again a very large one, and in all classes provides a valuable example of what the Wairarapa district is ■cap'.bie of.
