MONTHLY MEETINC.

, The monthly meeting of "the Masterton: Hospital' Committee was held yesterday (morning; there feeing present.— Messrs J. B. Keith (chairman), J. C. Ewington, H. O'Leafy, and 'W: -Fisher.

A letter was received: djrbmthe Secretary of the Wairarapa Hospital and Oiaritalbie Aid Board, stating that the Board had decided to give a trial to the suggestions contained in the letter of the laßjpectoir-Geneiral in regard to staffing the hospitals under the Board's control. A further letter was received from the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, stating that the Board had decided to give la trial' to the suggestions' contained in the letter of the Inspector-General in regard to staffing the Jlospitals under the Board*® control. A further letter was received from the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, thanking the Committee for their efforts in iconnectiCn with the recent .successful function in aid <f the Masterton Hospital, by means of [Which over, £IBO 'was raised for !-ho purchase of the X-Ray plant.

Messrs Cederholm and Tolley, elecitrioal engineers of Wellington, wrote in regard to ih© installation of an X-rfßay plant iat the 'Maisterton. Ho> ipital. It was decided that their report in connection with the matter be dealt with by the Hospital Com>mttee at «a future meeting, the secretary in the 'meantime being instructed to iiwake inquiries as to the cost of a gas producing 'jlant. A list of outstanding acMU.us fr.r maintenance at the Bosptil was .submitted by the seoro\n , y, and it was resolved that lie be instructed to request payment of same within so\en days, failing which l?gul proceedings will be taken. * The Treasurer reported as follows: Receipts—Balance from last meeting £338 10s 7d; patients' f<-es £sl 13s 4d, subscription's £1 5s Id; total, £391 .9s. Expenditure.— Salaries and wages £72 as lOd; rations £SO 4s 7d; drugs and dressings, £35 I.G& lid; fuel and light £l9 14s 6d; printing and stationery, 12s sd; furniture and repairs, £2 lis 6d; incidental, £2O 14s lid; balance at date £205 4s 9d; less outstanding cheque, £ls 13s 4d— Total, £lB9 8s 3d. Accounts amounting to £7B 7s 9d were passed for payment.
