HOTELS AND BUSINESS.
In the opinion of the Mayor of W.aihi, No-license has not been attended with either moral or material benefit in that township. The Mayor of Masterton, when approached upon the same isubject, stated that he did not consider that business had been aflected one way or the other, lie refrained from expressing an opinion, however, on the moral aspect of the question. On this point, a* far as Masterton is concerned, there is no argument. It is all against nothing, if Waihi has derived, no moral benefit from the closing of the bars, then it must either have • l been. v an exceedingly moral place before the closing of the hotels, or a shockingly immoral place ever since.
