CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
The last competition for the Saturday members was held at" Lansdowne on Saturday afternoon for Mr Whatman's trophy. A verv heavy westerly wind was blowing, which accounts for the. rather Joy scoring. Mj* Sidey, the Pahiatua sportsman,, had the misfortune to have, his gun go out of order in the early stages of the match, whici# militated against, hjm winning the trophy. At the present time Mr H. Allen is leadingyhvith 31 tills out of *45 birds. To complete the competition, the Thursday members have one more shoot to put in, which has been postponed until November 2nd, on account of the Carterton Club inviting the members down next Thursday to take part in a shoot for a gun.
