STRIKES.
Strikes are in tilie air. All sorts of wild rumours are being circulated in New Zealand just now. Some aver that w.e are on the eve of an industrial upheaval which will make the strike of 1891 pale into insignificance. But w(liere is the evidence? It is true that a large numiber of TJniows are cancelling their registration and thereby removing themselves from the pale of the Arbitration Court. This, however, does not imply a general strike. So far as can he ascertained, there is nothing to warrant tlhe apprehension that there wili be a cessation of work, at anyrate for some time to come.
