TRUST LANDS TRUST'S ACTION. Mr J. 0. Ewington wrote to the meeting of <• tie Masterton '-Trust Lands Trustees last night, urging the True* to protect him, as their tenant, against any harm that mighit accrue through, the position in .wibich; ■'the biridge over the Waipoua river was tieing* erected. He suggestedthat .the Trust approach the Minister for Public Works. The secretary read the opinion of the Trust solicitor, in which the Truot was'''.strongly advised, to apjproach the Minister with a view to protecting its interests. lMr Praghell moved' that the* Trust'® solicitor be instructed to take steps to apjpi'oiach! the Minister (protesting against the work going on as at present proposed, as tlhe Trust is of the opinion that it would damage its property adjacent. Mr Daniell asked would the Trust, ,bjy taking sii-oh action, be Mocking the efforts of the Mayor and Councillors to remedy the mistake? The question was whether the brjdge in its present condition was better than would be the case if it were widened. He thought that as the biridge was, the property would suffer more damage. (Mr Pragnell pointed out that the Borough Engineer had reported; that the ,gffiade could be improved by taking awfay one span at'the town end of the biridge. The motion was seconded by Mr Pauling and carried.
