WOOL SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. have received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the 10th inst., regarding the closing of. the sfch series of London wool sales:—-During the sales 102,000 bales of wool were sold, of which 40,000 were taken for the Continent and 2000 for America;' 26,000 bales were held over. The sales closed fairly, good. As compared with last sale's closing rates prices are j lower by about five per cent, for greasy j merino medium, and lower by about 10 per cent for scoured merino inferior. Average current London values for the undernoted descriptions of New Zealand greasy wool: Good <merino 13d; medium merino, 10£ d, inferior merino B£d, fine crossbred 12d, medium crossbred 9|d, coarse crossbred (40's) 9Jd, coarse crossbred (36's) 9d. MASTEBTON STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— held our weekly sale at yards on Wednesday last, ™ri we ] offered a small yarding of both cattle and sheep to a rather poor attendant of thoiJe,>terested. The bulk of 4 the yarding was comprised "of second- 1 class hoggets, and the quality of some ■ in conjunction with the spell of dry weather we are at present experiencing, rather tended to destroy the buoyant tone of last weeks market. We realised tihe following prices:— Sheep: Second-class hoggete, 7s 9d to 10a 9d; store wethers, to 17s 3d; very forward ewes, 14s; best springing heifers, to £6 15s; store cows, £3 3s to £3 15s; good mixed yearlings, £2 19s.
