WASTING TIME.
Judging from'" the manner in which thin business, of the House of Representatives was conducted yesterday, tnere would appear to bo abundance of room for the complaint of Mr Massey that the Government is deliberatel(y wastang time. Whether they are doing this in the interests of a couple of Ministers who are electioneering is a ma-Di/or best known to itnemselves. vVhen the Prime Minister, however, stated that the Ministers were paying their own expenses, he .was stating only a half-truth. Th •• Ministers are paid £IOOO a year each, with travelling and house allowance added', to attend to the affairs of their respective Departments, '.their place at the present time is im'the .House, and not oii the hustings, and it is sneer nonsense for the Premier to say that they are not eleotdonee#ing at the country's expense.
